Poor decisions were made

I take the blame
Confusion played a nasty role
Was lost in the clouds for a bit
Couldn’t see clearly

I thought I was a bird
My wings betrayed me
Miscalculated some steps
Now here I stand
Standing – I’m tired of running
Don’t want to see any chess pieces
Not sure
what I have come back down to

There may have been an echo or two

I didn’t listen carefully enough

Now the voice is faint

I only feel sorrow

Spun consequences in my head
It’s OK now
I know how to pick up shards of glass
