Jewish man in his yarmulke
Muslim woman in her hijab
walk in separate directions
There is still blood dripping
from where a Hutu stabbed a Tutsi
War is not over
The battle has not been won
1 Corinthians 12: 4-8 (English Standard Version):
Love is patient,
Love is kind.
It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It is not rude, it is not self-seeking,
it is not easily angered,
it keeps no record of wrongs.
It always protects, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails.
Progress is not easy
It tears at the fabric of who we are as people
Familiar is safe
Don’t marry a different race
Truth: Race is a social construct and we ARE all the same
But don’t teach that….
Don’t preach truth to the little girls and boys with open minds
Let’s indoctrinate them and fill their heads with half the story
Of why the world really is unfair and corrupt
Go slaughter the locals and rape the girls
Force them on their knees to worship to your deity or monarchs
Steal the land and lead the rest of the people into indentured servitude
Celebrate the new area you discovered
The same set of land people lived and thrived on long before your arrival
Write all about it in your journal like Christopher Columbus
Sit on your money, speak on your power, and let everyone else know how you
toiled the ground with your bare hands
If they do it too, they can live in the mansion on the hill
Smoothly you are told: Wait . . .please… don’t expect a handout . . .
Good luck! (Smile)
